OpenAudio officially announces the publication of the KNX Address Configuration Guide for the HOLOWHAS Multi-Room Streaming Amplifier Series, providing system integrators with a standardized framework for KNX addressing and deployment.
As HOLOWHAS continues expanding into high-end KNX-based residential and commercial installations, precise address planning and conflict avoidance have become critical for large-scale deployments. This newly released guide establishes a clear configuration methodology to ensure stable communication between HOLOWHAS amplifiers and KNX control infrastructures.
What Addresses Must Be Prepared?
The guide defines three core configuration elements required for successful integration:
1️⃣ KNX Physical Address
A unique identifier on the KNX bus (default example: 0.0.255).
Integrators should configure this according to the project’s topology and addressing structure.
2️⃣ KNX Client Address
Logical address used for server communication (default example: 0.0.1:5).
When running multiple KNX clients (e.g., Home Assistant, openHAB, ETS, custom C programs), the guide strongly recommends reserving a client address range to prevent conflicts.
Recommended allocation example:
0.0.1:16 (Reserving 16 consecutive addresses from 0.0.1 to 0.0.16)
This structured allocation significantly reduces commissioning risk in multi-controller environments.
3️⃣ KNXnet/IP Router Address
The gateway IP address (example: 192.168.1.100).
Installers must enter the actual on-site KNX IP router address to establish stable communication.
Two Configuration Methods
To accommodate both engineering deployment and end-user adjustment scenarios, the guide introduces two configuration paths:
Method 1: USB Drive Configuration (Recommended for Bulk Deployment)
- Create home_knx.ini in the USB root directory
- Fill in:
- device_addr
- client_addr
- router_ip
- Insert USB drive — system loads automatically
This method is optimized for fast batch commissioning across multiple units.
Method 2: App Configuration
- Install the HoloHome App (ensure same network)
- Navigate to “KNX Config”
- Manually input addressing parameters and save
This method is suitable for on-site adjustments and smaller deployments.

KNX integration requires deterministic communication and disciplined address planning. Without a structured configuration approach, projects involving multiple KNX clients and IP routers can quickly encounter:
